My baby learned how to ride her bike this week. It has been such a journey for her. We got her a bike last year and she has refused to ride it because she is horrified of anyone seeing her ride it with the training wheels on. So she persisted and the bike sat untouched for an entire year!!! Our neighbors little girl got a bike for her birthday and has been riding around like a champ and I think Sarah got the bug finally. She was still mortified about the training wheels so I asked her if she wanted me to take them off. Yes! She cried. Once they were off I got to run next to her for an afternoon. Then Alan did it the next day and she got it. She looks so cute riding around, beaming with pride that she finally did it.
She can't wait to ride to school with the boys. Oh, I got a bike for my birthday and so I have been asked regularly by the kids to ride to school with them now. It is great fun and the kind of exercise I need. If it would just stop raining, then maybe we could all get out a little more. Hurray Sarah! I am so proud of you!

Just remember not to force Sarah to ride down any steep hills until she has been riding for more than a week! She may end up falling and breaking her arm like Morgan did a week after she learned to ride without training wheels.
