A new year doesn't mean we have abandoned the brrrr theme previously reported on. We got another foot, yes 6 inches, of snow today! The weather keeps teasing me. The snow will just start to melt and then bam!, more comes to replace it. The piles in our front yard are getting rather big. Large enough in fact for the kids to sled down. They have been created from shoveling the snow continuously and it not melting. Under the fresh powder, is a mound of ice. I desire to have a large snow blower and an artic quad with a snow plow attachment for the front. I don't know how much they cost, but I will do whatever it takes to aquire them. Plus, who doesn't want a quad?
The shoveling wasn't too bad today. The snow was so light it was like moving mounds of styrofoam pellets. I imagine the skiing is amazing up in the mountains. Daniel will get to report to us on how great it is when he goes on his field trip to go skiing! They don't mess around with field trips to McDonalds here, they go straight for the good stuff. Daniel insists I must chaperone. I may have to oblige.
Our New Year's celebration was tastey. The crab was sweet and succulent and the steak was delish. The kids loved the poppers I got them and we all went to bed early. We didn't bother watching the ball drop. Watching people dancing and drunk on TV isn't fun. It is necessary to be there in person so that they can be properly made fun of. And if those people dancing around aren't drunk, they should tell people they were to justify the "dancing" they do. Besides, they always look like they are trying way too hard to have a good time. Like they saved up all of their Friday nights for a year and are trying to squeeze all of the partying possible out of just one night. Instead of witnessing the debauchery on TV, we rented "Eagle Eye". If you haven't seen it, I recommend it. Although, there was more language than I would have liked in a movie. However, I can't say I wouldn't let a few slip if I was on the verge of being killed everytime I turned a corner. Anyway, good flick.
I drove on the freeway, by myself, for the first time today in a snow storm. I haven't wanted to leave the house very much with all of the icy roads, but I was having a Costco jones and had coupons to boot. I couldn't be held back. The key to staying on the road is going very slow. Some people on the other side of the freeway must have not known that little gem because about 20 cars piled up on eachother while I was headed home. I was on the other side thankfully and I don't think anyone was hurt. I am glad to be home.
