Winterfest

The City of Ogden trucked in load after load of snow and dumped in their downtown district to have Winterfest last weekend.  We have decided to try harder to get out of the house and do some fun things as often as we can and when those things are relatively free, even better.

There were several events including this one.  Horse skiing.  The horse would pull the skiers or snowboarders behind them and then the would go off jumps.  It was fun to watch.

Some of the people wiped out pretty good off the jumps!

This was the snowmobile races.  These guys were flying and we were standing right next to them.  Thankfully, no one lost control and wiped out the audience.

Sarah, in her so cute new glasses, was very distracted by all the horses.

The kids wanted to go sledding and we have found this amazing neighborhood up Weber Canyon in a city called Mountain Green.  It is beautiful up there and they have some pretty fun sledding hills too.  Alan and I found this "snowboard" at the DI for Daniel and he was having fun trying it out.

Everyone is trekking up the hill for their run.  This was a pretty steep hill with lots of bumps along the way.

Jacob arriving at the bottom.

Our little snowboard man!

This is Sarah wiping out.  Her leg is flying up and her head is left as she is flung onto her back into the snow.  It was a great wipe out.  She got back up laughing and jumped back on the sled to finish the run.  Sadly, she wiped out again.  She was still in good spirits but this hill was a tricky one.  I went down once and almost did some real damage.  It was fun though.
We love this area.  If we could move all of our friends we have made up with us it would be a perfect place to live.  The homes are amazing too!
